Ceramic Fillings

We use ceramic fillings to restore the function, integrity and morphology of missing tooth structure caused from tooth decay or external trauma.

Traditionally, large cavities were filled with amalgam (silver filling) due to its high tensile strength, however, these fillings contain Mercury which is toxic to the body and hence not used by us at Lakeview Dental Studio.

We fill small cavities with tooth-coloured composite resin and fill large cavities with the stronger, healthier and more aesthetically pleasing ceramic (CEREC) fillings. We also advise all patients with amalgam fillings to have them removed and replaced with healthier metal-free ceramic fillings.
